Orbigny is in the department of
Indre et Loire (37), more or less midway between Blois to the
north and Loches to the south.
Our favourite ways to get to Les Assis are by Ryanair, which flies
to Tours from both Stanstead (daily) and Dublin
(twice weekly for the summer months).
Tours is less than an hour from Les Assis. By sea from England
we always use Speed Ferries, Dover to Boulogne.
From Ireland we prefer Brittany Ferries, either Cork to Cherbourg
or Roscoff.
Irish Ferries also ply between Rosslare and Cherbourg or Roscoff.
There are great roads the whole way down and we find it very
easy driving on the uncluttered autoroutes.
