Price to include an upholstered base ready for a mattress.
The colour in this bed is just delicious - rich honey. Elm has quite
an open grain. It is to my mind more of a ‘country’ bed;
easy, unsophisticated, warm, glowing. It is a lovely wood. The picture
here was taken just after we bought it and the white on the inside
panel is of no consequence; it will clean and polish up beautifully.
This style is known as Lit à Rouleau, because the ends have
plain rolled tops. It has, as is usual for the period, one decorative
side that faces the room and a completely plain side that goes against
the wall.
Dimensions: Widest outside 4’4. Longest outside 6’9. Height
3’5. Inside measurements 3’10 X 6’2.
It will make a very generous single bed or it will do at a pinch for
2 people for cosy overnighting. (I know because we use one !)
