Bed 1328

Ref 1328
Wild cherry simple Louis XVI style
UK£1200
Circa 1890
Price to include a new upholstered base ready for a mattress.

This bed is made from Meresier, wild cherry in French. It is a wonderful warm, deep colour. A mixture between ginger and chestnut is probably the best way to describe it.
It is in excellent condition and made in a simple version of what is loosely called the Louis XVI style.
This style was fashionable at the turn of the century and used swags, bows and motifs from natural life for its decorative elements.

Like most of our antique beds it is not a full 5’ wide although the image we have taken is with a 5’ wide base and mattress.
Our customers say that as the beds are interesting and decorative a small ‘overhang’ is not a problem.
Therefore this bed can take either a 4’6” or 5’(with overhang) wide, base and mattress.
It measures 57” at the widest point.
65” at highest point on the headboard.
38” to highest point on footboard.
